Split Bills and Shared Expenses
Split Bills and Shared Expenses is the money-tracking side of MyNotifyAssist. It is not a UPI app and it does not transfer money. You record what was spent, who paid, and how a bill should be divided. Settlement still happens outside the app, in cash or in whatever payment app you already use. The point of this feature is a clear record so nobody has to reconstruct a trip or a household from chat messages.
Personal expenses cover your own spending: categories, budgets, recurring costs, and savings goals. Shared expenses are a joint ledger with Connections. You and someone you trust log costs in one place and mark who paid. That fits a household, a couple, or two colleagues who keep splitting the same kinds of bills. Each entry shows the amount, the category, and the person who paid, so the ledger stays readable a month later.
Split bills are for a group. You create a group, add people, and divide a cost equally, by percentage, or by custom amounts. The app keeps who owes what and a settle-up record of what has been marked paid. A trip, a flat share, or a team lunch can live in its own group so it does not mix with your personal budget. People can join a group with an invite instead of you typing every number by hand.
Reminders still help here. A rent date or a card payment can be a scheduled SMS, WhatsApp, email, or voice alert, while the expense entry holds the amount. Kri can log an expense from a sentence when your plan includes it, and you still confirm a preview before it is saved. Download the free app or register on the web, then start with one personal budget or one shared group.
A practical way to begin is one month of personal spending, or one group for a trip you are already on. Categories keep a grocery run distinct from rent. A savings goal gives the personal ledger a target that is not a bill to split. When the group settles, mark the record so the balance does not linger after the money has changed hands outside the app. The history stays, which is what you want the next time someone asks who paid for what.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does MyNotifyAssist pay or collect the money?
- No. It records expenses, splits, and who paid. You settle up outside the app with cash or any payment method you already use. It is not a UPI or payment app.
- What is the difference between shared expenses and split bills?
- Shared expenses are a joint ledger with Connections, with a “paid by” person on each entry. Split bills divide one cost across a group equally, by percentage, or by custom amounts.
- Can I keep a personal budget as well as group splits?
- Yes. Personal spending, budgets, and savings goals stay separate from shared ledgers and split groups, so a trip does not rewrite your own budget.
